1. Direction-Free Mirror Substrate
A mirror finish is direction-free by definition—no visible scratch orientation, wipe pattern, or "grain." Achieving this on compound-curve bathroom mixer tap bodies requires the polishing wheel to approach each surface point from the correct normal direction:
  • Phase A (Spout Arch): Surface-normal-tracked path—wheel axis kept perpendicular to the local tangent at every point along the arch
  • Phase H (Handle Arm): Wrap-around path sweeps from base to tip, rotating approach angle as handle geometry changes
  • Phase M (Full-Body Final): Flannel and fine compound applied with deliberately varied path direction per pass
2. Transition-Free Spout-to-Body Junction
The spout-to-body transition is the most visible join and hardest to polish without leaving marks. Phase T handles this with a soft-entry force ramp:
  • Polishing force ramps down as wheel approaches transition zone
  • Wheel re-angles to transition geometry normal while force is lowest
  • Force ramps back up on body side to Phase B level

1. Why is bathroom mixer tap polishing harder than other faucet types?

This prevents wheel dragging and ring mark formation.
3. The handle lever on our single-handle mixer shows a "flat" along its length after chrome plating. What causes this?
A polishing flat is caused by wheel pressing from one side only. Phase H uses wrap-around path that rotates approach angle continuously along lever length, ensuring wheel contacts lever at every orientation rather than one direction. This creates even polished layer depth around full lever section.
4. We run brass, stainless and zinc alloy variants of the same mixer tap model. Can one machine handle all three?
Yes. Material flag in recipe selects correct force envelope, compound formulation and fixture configuration for each material. Brass, stainless and zinc alloy variants can run back-to-back with recipe-flag change. For high-volume single-material lines, material-dedicated cells may be recommended for throughput optimization.
