Smart door lock housings are among the most demanding surface finishing challenges in consumer hardware manufacturing. The die-cast zinc alloy or aluminum face panel must clear parting-line flash, gate remnants, and ejector-pin marks — then achieve a mirror-grade or satin finish that survives electroplating, PVD coating, or powder coating without defects.
Manual polishing of these complex, multi-cavity, multi-feature parts is slow, inconsistent, and impossible to scale without a large skilled workforce. The LRMC-DL Series Robotic Polishing Machine solves this with 6-axis force-controlled automation, automatically adapting contact pressure and tool path to the irregular geometry of lock housings — delivering plating-ready surfaces at 3-5* manual throughput.

Force-Controlled Polishing — Adapts to Every Curve and Recess
Smart door lock housings are not flat. The face panel combines flat fields, recessed keypad windows, raised boss rings around the cylinder hole, and radiused edges. A rigid-tooling polisher gouges the recesses and skips the bosses.
The LRMC active force control module maintains constant contact force (±0.5 N) regardless of surface angle or height transition, ensuring:
Uniform material removal across flat zones and contoured surfaces
No over-polishing at edges or raised bosses
No under-polishing in shallow recesses and near window cutouts
