LR-POLISH GSF Series – 6-Axis Robotic Polishing Cell for Aluminum & Ductile Iron Gear Shift Forks
The LR-POLISH GSF Series is purpose-engineered for the fork geometry found in manual transmission, agricultural, and commercial vehicle gearboxes. A compliant robotic spindle follows every contour of the Y-arm, central bore, and tip pad surfaces – delivering mirror-grade or functional finish on demand, shift after shift.

01 – Adaptive Force Control for Fork Geometry
The compliant end-effector maintains a user-defined contact force (2-25 N, ±0.3 N) regardless of casting dimensional variation. Arms, bore radius, and tip faces are polished in a single uninterrupted program – no fixture change.

A: Yes. We offer slim-profile bristle and felt tooling as narrow as 5 mm for tight fork tip geometries. Tooling selection is confirmed during the free application review.
Q: We run 12 different fork variants. Is it realistic to switch programs mid-shift?
A: Fully. Program changeover via HMI touchscreen takes under 2 minutes (operator selects part number; robot loads the stored path automatically). Physical fixture change for different fork sizes takes 5-8 minutes.
Q: Our forks are ductile iron, not aluminum. Does the system work?
A: Yes. The LR-POLISH GSF Series is dual-rated for aluminum alloy and ductile iron (QT450/QT600). Abrasive selection and force parameters are adjusted per material in the program.
