Product Description

Performance


There is a stator with blades and a rotor with blades in the working chamber of the hydraulic retarder, and the rotor rotates together with the drive shaft. When the retarder is working, the ECU controls the opening of the proportional valve to pump the gas from the whole vehicle gas source into the retarder oil cell shell, and the gas presses the retarder oil into the working chamber. The rotor rotates at high speed and hits the oil on the stator, generating a reaction force, i.e. braking torque, which in turn acts to reduce the speed of the vehicle (the more oil, the greater the reaction force). The heated oil flows out of the working chamber and into the heat exchanger, where the heat is taken away by the engine coolant and transferred to the atmosphere through the engine cooling water tank. The retarder converts the kinetic energy of the vehicle into heat energy, which is then transferred to the atmosphere through the engine water circulation system to achieve constant speed and deceleration of the vehicle. As the retarder is a braking force generated by churning oil, the retarder force is very weak when the drive shaft speed is too low. Generally the vehicle can exert a lot of braking power at speeds above 30km/h.
