This sapphire monocrystal is composed of 99.999% pure Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3), ensuring minimal impurities and defects. The KY method of growth allows for larger crystal sizes and improved uniformity, making it suitable for high-performance applications. Sapphire ingots are typically used as raw materials for further processing. These sapphire rods and sapphire ingots are uniformly shaped, usually as cylinders. The most sapphire crystal grows in A-axis, and the most widely used sapphire substrate in the LED market is its C-plane (0001).
