Alternate Top Bevel (ATB) or Combination Tooth Design: An ATB design, where every other tooth is beveled in an alternating pattern, is great for cutting through wood fibers cleanly, producing a smooth finish on the top surface. A combination tooth design (ATB with some flat-top teeth) adds ripping ability while still maintaining a good crosscut finish.

Low Hook Angle: A low hook angle (around 5 degrees or less) helps to prevent the blade from "lifting" the material as it cuts, reducing the risk of kickback and ensuring a controlled cut.
