Description:
This specification covers the standard for wrought austenitic stainless steel fittings for pressure piping applications. The material for fittings shall consist of forgings, bars, plates, or seamless or welded tubular products.
Forging or shaping operations shall be performed by hammering, pressing, piercing, extruding, upsetting, rolling, bending, fusion welding, machining, or by a combination of two or more of these operations.
All fittings shall undergo heat-treatment. Chemical and product analyses shall be performed and shall conform to the required chemical composition in carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, molybdenum, and titanium.

ASTM A403 WP347H buttweld stainless steel pipe fittings that are weldable onto the pipes they need to fit on. There are different types, forms and shapes of fittings available. The functions include changing the direction of fluid flow, reducing the diameter of the pipeline, joining two fluid flow lines together and splitting a line into two.
The A403 WP347H Elbow functions to change the direction of fluid flow but is more abrupt than the bend. ASTM A403 WP347H fittings vary in shape and function such as the union, adapter, double-tapped bushing, coupling and valves.
