Q1: Which vehicles does this air curtain apply to?
Vehicle model year: 2015 - 2019

Including: GLE 350d Coupe, GLE 400 Coupe, AMG GLE 43 / 63 S Coupe, etc.
Note: This item is designed for the GLE Coupe (C292 sloping version), and is not applicable to the standard SUV version W166 / GLE (V167). Even if the years are overlapping, they cannot be used interchangeably because of the different curtain length, fixation points and plugs.
Q2: How to distinguish? One of my clients insists that his car is model W166. How can I confirm this?
The following method can be used for distinction:
Check the vehicle model: If it has a sloping body shape (with an inclined rear), it is model C292. This part can be used; if it has a traditional upright SUV shape, it is model W166. This part cannot be used.
Check the original vehicle part number: Remove the original vehicle air curtain, and check if the part number on the label starts with A166. If it does, then the parts starting with A166 must be provided.
Important Safety Notice: Please strictly refrain from sending this C292 air curtain to customers of the W166 model. This involves serious safety hazards. After installation, it may cause the air curtain to malfunction or fail to deploy in an accident. It is suggested that you confirm with the customer whether the vehicle model is SUV (W166) or Coupe (C292). If the customer confirms it is W166, you need to recommend the correct parts with the part number starting with A166.
Q3: Why aren't the airbags of the W166 and C292 models interchangeable?
Although the W166 and C292 have similar appearances, there are physical differences in their side curtain airbag systems:
Fixed points are different: The C-pillar structure and fixed brackets of the Coupe model (with a sloping roof design) are different from those of standard SUVs. This results in differences in the installation holes, lengths, and deployment shapes of the airbags.
Cable and connector: There may be differences in the length of the SRS (safety airbag) cables and the connector interfaces for the two models. Forceful installation may result in inability to plug or unplug or error messages.
Dimensions: The roof curvature and length of the Coupe model are slightly different from those of the SUV. The coverage area and inflation pressure curve of the air curtain are also different.
