The co-pilot airbag is associated with the vehicle's SRS system. Before installation, the negative terminal of the battery must be disconnected and left to discharge for more than 3 minutes. After reinstallation, a professional diagnostic computer (such as Autel or Snap-on) is required to clear the SRS collision codes and calibrate the OPDS occupant detection system to ensure that the "Airbag Off" indicator light functions properly.
Improper installation may result in the airbags not deploying, incorrect deployment, or the SRS indicator light remaining constantly on, posing safety risks and affecting the resale value of the vehicle.
