Why is the airbag in the driver's seat of the Peugeot 307 different from those in other cars?
The driver's airbag of the Peugeot 307 adopts a unique "two-stage explosion" technology. This is the biggest difference between the Peugeot 307 (and some of the more high-end 207 models) and many other cars in the same class.
Standard airbags: The airbags in most ordinary cars are "single-stage". Once the collision reaches the threshold, the airbag will fully inflate and explode immediately. Regardless of whether the collision is minor or severe, the force of the explosion is the same, which sometimes causes unnecessary shock damage to the driver.
Configuration of the Peugeot 307: The 307 is equipped with 2-stage explosive airbags.
Intelligent adjustment: It can determine whether to only detonate the first stage (for moderate collisions) or both stages simultaneously (for severe collisions) based on the intensity of the collision (judged by sensors).
Advantages: This design can automatically adjust the expansion pressure, protecting the driver while effectively reducing the impact force of the airbag on the driver's face and chest, providing more "soft" but effective protection.
