Fire Resistance Seismic Bracing System For Commercial Building Ductwork
Unlike traditional load-bearing supports which only bear gravitational loads, seismic supports are designed with structures such as inclined braces and joints to specifically resist horizontal/vertical seismic forces generated by earthquakes. This prevents air ducts from falling off or breaking during an earthquake, and prevents secondary disasters such as fire spread and smoke blockage of evacuation routes caused by damage to the air duct system.
The transverse diagonal braces restrict the vertical swaying of the duct along the axis direction, while the longitudinal diagonal braces control the displacement along the axis. Together with the vertical supports, they form a spatial constraint system to ensure that the duct is constrained in all three axes (X, Y, and Z).
