The ULN2003AC is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington array integrated circuit comprised of seven silicon NPN Darlington pairs. Featuring common-emitter outputs with open-collector configurations, it includes internal clamp diodes and base-emitter resistors for enhanced efficiency and reduced leakage. Each Darlington pair is series-connected with a 2.7K base resistor, enabling compatibility with TTL and CMOS logic levels at a 5V operating voltage, thus directly handling data that would typically require standard logic buffers. This device offers high operating voltage and current capabilities, with a sink current of up to 500mA and the ability to withstand 50V in the OFF state. Its outputs can operate in parallel for high load currents, providing a robust solution for multi-interface drive circuits. Applications include driving solenoids, relays, incandescent lamps, small motors, and LEDs.
