The ULN2803S is a high-current Darlington transistor array designed for low-voltage systems. It consists of eight Darlington pairs, each with a free-wheeling diode, suitable for driving inductive loads such as relays and stepper motors. Each Darlington pair supports a current of 200mA at an input voltage as low as 1.8V, with the capability to achieve higher output currents by paralleling the Darlington pairs. Each channel includes a base resistor and a 4.7K Ohm pull-down resistor to ground, allowing direct connection to TTL/CMOS circuits operating below 5V and preventing unstable MCU IO states during power-up.
