The VCP1611 is a high-precision linear position sensor utilizing Anisotropic Magnetoresistance (AMR) technology, offering superior positional accuracy compared to traditional Hall sensors. Its optimized design and packaging enable reliable and accurate operation in harsh environments with oil, dust, and high temperatures. The VCP1611 is designed to work with magnetic scales, with the sensor spanning one or more magnetic poles of 2.0mm pitch, eliminating positional errors caused by magnetic pole imperfections and further enhancing measurement accuracy. It tolerates significant variations in the sensor-to-magnet gap, simplifying installation and testing. The VCP1611 employs a DFN package for easy automated surface mounting.

The VCP1611 linear position sensor can be connected using a common operational amplifier for differential amplification. A 10kOhm resistor provides high input impedance, while 470kOhm resistors and a 220 pF capacitor are used to set the amplification gain and filter out noise. The analog voltage output from the operational amplifier can be fed into an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) or a microcontroller. Using a 10-bit or higher resolution ADC is recommended for further signal processing.
