The Allegro ACS70331 is a high-sensitivity, integrated current sensor IC utilizing Giant Magneto-Resistive (GMR) technology for current sensing applications up to 5 A. It offers a 25x improvement in sensitivity over traditional Hall-effect sensors, providing a low-noise, high-speed analog output proportional to AC and DC current. With a 1 MHz bandwidth and a response time of 535 ns, it is suitable for magnetically noisy environments due to its differential GMR element configuration and significant rejection of stray magnetic fields. The device operates from a single 3.3 V supply and is available in space-saving QFN-12 and SOIC-8 surface-mount packages. It is factory-programmed with four sensitivity and offset levels to optimize performance across various current measurement ranges.
