The Allegro ACS37612 is a coreless, high-precision, Hall-effect current sensor IC designed for low-cost AC and DC current sensing solutions. It eliminates the need for external field concentrator cores or shields, making it ideal for applications where hundreds of amps flow through a busbar or PCB trace. The device offers high isolation, differential sensing for common-mode field rejection, and high operating bandwidths of up to 240 kHz. Its robust design, including a wide ambient operating temperature range (40C to 150C) and excellent ESD rating, makes it suitable for harsh automotive environments. The ACS37612 is available in a low-profile 8-pin TSSOP package, ideal for space-constrained applications. Key applications include inverter phase current sensing, load detection and management, power supplies, and DC/DC converters, with a fast response time enabling overcurrent fault detection in safety-critical systems.
