The LTR-553ALS-01 is an integrated low voltage I2C digital light sensor (ALS) and proximity sensor (PS) with a built-in emitter, all within a miniature chipled lead-free surface mount package. This sensor converts light intensity into a digital output signal, enabling direct I2C interface. It offers a linear response across a wide dynamic range from 0.01 lux to 64k lux, making it suitable for applications with high ambient brightness. The integrated proximity sensor, including an emitter and detector, allows for user-configurable object detection distances. The sensor supports an interrupt feature to enhance system efficiency by eliminating the need for constant polling. Additionally, it includes features to minimize false triggering. Its CMOS design and factory-set trimming ensure minimal sensor-to-sensor variations, simplifying manufacturing for end customers.
