The Infineon KP305 is a highly reliable ISO 26262 compliant pressure sensor designed for critical automotive safety applications. It excels in detecting side crashes in passenger cars and is also suitable for other pressure-based collision detection systems like Pedestrian or Front Crash Protection. The device measures relative pressure changes (p/p0) within a sensitive air volume, providing an output proportional to the pressure variation, independent of ambient pressure. Its digital Manchester encoded output signal enables autonomous operation without additional logic ICs, making it a cost-effective solution for pressure satellites.
