Honeywell SNG-Q Series Quadrature Speed and Direction Sensors

The Honeywell SNG-Q Series Quadrature Speed and Direction Sensors are engineered to deliver both speed and direction information. Speed is outputted as digital square waves, while direction is determined by a quadrature output with two signals phase-shifted by 90. This design allows for precise determination of target direction based on the lead/lag phase shift of the output signals. These sensors offer enhanced reliability with an IP69K rating, EMC radiated immunity, O-ring seal, and a wide operating temperature range, leading to improved equipment uptime and reduced service costs. Their cost-competitive design, utilizing a platform-based approach, ensures mechanical and electrical configurability. Dual differential Hall-effect sensor IC technology provides enhanced accuracy for detecting small target features. The wide operating temperature range, robust electrical noise immunity, and enhanced environmental sealing offer application flexibility. Features like the O-ring seal for pressure applications and a fixed mounting flange simplify installation. The SNG-Q Series is part of a broader portfolio of electronic speed and position sensors from Honeywell.
