The core of a rotary iron remover consists of a rotating magnetic roller or magnetic rod assembly combined with a scraper mechanism. The magnets (permanent or electromagnetic) generate a strong magnetic field, which attracts ferromagnetic impurities as material flows over the surface of the rotating magnetic components. As the magnetic components rotate into the discharge zone, the impurities are forcibly scraped off by scrapers or fall off due to gravity in areas where the magnetic field weakens.
