The Decanter Centrifuge for Glass Polishing Slurry Recovery is designed for continuous solid-liquid separation, polishing powder recovery, slurry thickening, and process-water clarification.
It is suitable for glass polishing wastewater, optical glass processing, flat glass polishing, LCD glass processing, lens polishing, photovoltaic glass, ceramic glass, and glass-finishing process water. The centrifuge can recover fine polishing solids such as cerium oxide, alumina, silica fines, glass powder, and other suspended particles from polishing slurry.
| Process Requirement | Decanter Centrifuge Solution |
|---|---|
| Fine polishing powder recovery | Continuous high-force separation |
| Process-water recycle | Clarified liquid for reuse or further treatment |
| Variable slurry concentration | Adjustable bowl speed and differential speed |
| Abrasive glass fines | Wear-resistant scroll and discharge protection |
| Lower wastewater load | Thickened slurry before filter press or disposal |
| Reduced material loss | Recovery of valuable polishing powder |
| Automatic operation | PLC-controlled continuous running |
Peony provides continuous solid-liquid separation for glass polishing slurry recovery, polishing-powder thickening, and process-water recycle.
Glass Polishing / Grinding → Slurry Collection Tank → Optional Flocculant Dosing → Decanter Centrifuge → Thickened Polishing Solids → Filter Press / Dryer / Recovery / Disposal
Clarified Liquid → Process Water Tank → Recycle to Polishing or Further Treatment
Peony can provide:
Glass polishing slurry enters the rotating bowl through a controlled feed pipe.
An agitated slurry tank is normally recommended upstream to prevent solids settling and maintain stable feed concentration.
Inside the high-speed rotating bowl, centrifugal force separates polishing powder and glass fines from the liquid phase.
The heavier fine solids settle against the bowl wall, while clarified liquid remains closer to the center.
The internal screw conveyor rotates at a controlled differential speed relative to the bowl.
This movement transports settled polishing solids toward the conical end for continuous discharge.
The separated liquid leaves through the liquid outlet.
It can be returned to the polishing-water circulation system, transferred to a recycle-water tank, or sent to further clarification and wastewater treatment.
The concentrated polishing powder, glass fines, and sludge are discharged continuously from the solids outlet.
Recovered solids can be sent to a filter press, dryer, polishing-powder recovery system, storage tank, or disposal section.

Different polishing materials such as cerium oxide, alumina, silica, or mixed glass fines have different density, particle size, and settling behavior.
Very fine polishing powder may remain suspended in water. Slurry testing is recommended when high recovery or strict clarified-water quality is required.
High solids concentration or high viscosity may reduce separation capacity. Stable feeding helps maintain consistent operation.
Glass fines and polishing media can cause wear. Wear protection should be selected according to particle hardness, solids concentration, and operating hours.
If clarified water will be reused directly in polishing, the suspended-solids level, turbidity, pH, conductivity, and residual additives should be checked.
Large glass fragments or coarse particles should be removed by screening before entering the decanter centrifuge.
The decanter continuously recovers fine polishing solids from glass polishing slurry and process water, reducing material loss and wastewater load.
Clarified liquid can be reused in polishing, rinsing, or slurry preparation after suitable quality checking.
Glass fines, silica particles, alumina, and cerium oxide can be abrasive. Wear-resistant protection can be added to the scroll, feed zone, bowl cone, and solids discharge area.
Bowl speed, differential speed, pond depth, and feed rate can be adjusted according to particle size, slurry concentration, viscosity, and clarified-water target.
The centrifuge thickens polishing slurry before filter pressing, drying, recovery, or disposal, reducing liquid volume and improving handling efficiency.
Please provide the following information for a suitable glass polishing slurry recovery solution:
Yes. It can recover fine cerium oxide and other polishing solids from glass polishing slurry. Recovery performance depends on particle size, slurry concentration, and clarified-water target.
Yes. Clarified liquid can often be returned to polishing-water circulation or process-water storage. Further polishing filtration may be needed for stricter reuse quality.
It is recommended when the slurry contains glass fines, silica, alumina, or other abrasive particles.
Large glass fragments should be screened out before centrifugation. The decanter is more suitable for fine polishing slurry, suspended solids, and sludge thickening.
The decanter is mainly used for continuous thickening and primary dewatering. A filter press or dryer may still be used when lower final moisture is required.
Peony welcomes distributor and agent cooperation with glass processing plants, optical glass manufacturers, photovoltaic glass producers, polishing-line suppliers, wastewater treatment companies, and industrial separation partners.
We support partners with slurry testing, decanter centrifuge selection, wear-resistant configuration, flocculant dosing design, process-water recycle integration, installation guidance, commissioning support, spare parts, and after-sales service.
Send us your glass polishing slurry information, including polishing powder type, particle size, solids concentration, required capacity, recovery target, clarified-water requirement, additive content, and downstream handling arrangement. Our engineering team will recommend a suitable decanter centrifuge solution for your glass polishing slurry recovery process.
