Description

The Decanter Centrifuge for Ink Slurry Wastewater Treatment is designed for continuous pigment separation, ink-sludge thickening, wastewater clarification, and downstream filtration preparation.

It is suitable for wastewater generated during ink production, mixing-tank cleaning, printing-machine washing, color changeover, and off-spec ink treatment.

Ink Wastewater Process Challenge

Ultrafine Pigment Particles

Ink pigments are often fine and highly dispersed.

Coagulation, flocculation, or pH adjustment may be required before centrifugation to improve solids capture and liquid clarity.

Resins and Binders

Acrylic resin, polyurethane, latex, and other binders may increase slurry viscosity or form sticky deposits.

How the Decanter Centrifuge Works

1. Conditioned Ink Slurry Feeding

Conditioned ink wastewater enters the rotating bowl through a controlled feed pipe.

An agitated equalization tank maintains stable solids concentration and prevents pigment sludge from settling.

2. Centrifugal Sedimentation

High-speed rotation separates aggregated pigment particles, fillers, and precipitated resin solids from the liquid phase.

The denser solids move outward and form a layer against the bowl wall.

3. Continuous Solids Conveying

The internal screw conveyor rotates at a controlled differential speed.

It continuously transports the settled ink sludge toward the conical end for further thickening.

4. Clarified Liquid Discharge

The separated liquid leaves through the liquid outlet.

It can be sent to oxidation, biological treatment, flotation, membrane filtration, or further water-recovery treatment.

5. Thickened Ink Sludge Discharge

Concentrated ink sludge is discharged continuously.

The solids can be sent to a filter press, dryer, pigment-recovery process, sludge container, or controlled disposal.

Can several ink colors be treated in one machine?
