ADAPT (Distributed RAID): A distributed erasure coding technology that significantly reduces rebuild times after drive failures and eliminates the need for dedicated hot spares
Tiering & Provisioning: Supports 3-level auto-tiering (SSD, SAS, NL-SAS) and thin provisioning, which is active by default to optimize space
Data Protection: Includes asynchronous replication, up to 1024 snapshots per array, and support for Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs) with AES-256
Management Tools: Managed via the web-based PowerVault Manager (HTML5 GUI), CLI, or OpenManage Enterprise. It also integrates with VMware vCenter and Site Recovery Manager

The ME5012 can scale from a minimum of 2 drives up to a maximum of 264 drives by adding expansion enclosures:
