Laser Welding vs Conventional Welding

Traditional welding is mainly divided into three types: TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding, MIG (metal inert gas) welding and spot welding. TIG and MIG welding use a shielding gas to create an inert atmosphere over the welding head. For TIG, the arc is made of a tungsten electrode, while for MIG, the electrode is a filler wire. In order for the weld to have high strength, a balance must be achieved and maintained between penetration and root pass width. The ratio of depth to width should not exceed 1 to 1.2. The laser beam in laser welding can be tightly controlled to achieve microwelding, even on small workpieces. With an accuracy of 0.025mm compared to other welding processes, it will be hard to beat.
