The deliberate addition of titanium (minimum 5 * C content) effectively prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries, ensuring immunity to intergranular corrosion even after extended exposure to the critical 425-900°C sensitization range. Grade 321H, with controlled higher carbon content (0.04-0.10%), provides superior elevated temperature strength for structural applications.
