Product Overview
The Rotork YTC smart valve positioner accurately controls valve stroke according to a 4-20mA input signal delivered from the controller. It is designed for use with pneumatic linear and rotary valve actuators in both safe and hazardous industrial settings. The positioner family is one of Rotork's flagship product lines, offering reliable performance across a wide range of applications.
The YT series features auto calibration with a simple menu structure, an alphanumeric LCD display for process values and calibration, and HART communication for digital commands, position feedback, and diagnostics over the current loop. Four robust pushbuttons enable local configuration. The positioner offers fail-freeze and fail-safe functions, allowing the valve to maintain its last position or move to a predetermined position on loss of electrical or pneumatic supply.
With near-zero steady-state air consumption and a rugged aluminum alloy housing, the Rotork YTC positioner is built for energy efficiency and long service life. Available models include YT-1000 (basic electro-pneumatic), YT-2500 (smart positioner with HART), YT-3300 (advanced smart positioner with PST), and YT-3700 (compact smart positioner).

Common Problems
No response to input signal: Check supply pressure (1.4~7 bar) and pneumatic connections. Verify the input signal is within 4-20mA range.
Valve position does not match input signal: Perform auto calibration. Check that the action direction (direct or reverse) is correctly set. Verify feedback linkage connection.
Erratic operation or oscillation: Check for air leaks in tubing and fittings. Verify the PID control parameters. Check for excessive friction in valve packing or actuator.
Auto calibration fails: Check supply pressure and travel limits. Ensure the valve is not stuck or binding. Verify the feedback lever is properly engaged.
Air leakage from positioner: Check O-rings, gaskets, and diaphragm for wear. Inspect the spool valve for contamination.
