Acetyl octapeptide-1 is a linear short peptide composed of eight amino acids, with the chemical formula C50H96N20O10 and a molecular weight of 1137.42. It is a white solid. This substance has a phospholipid-like structure with hydrophilic ends and a hydrophobic center, and exhibits good solubility in pure water.
Acetyl octapeptide-1 self-assembles through intermolecular non-covalent bonds to form uniform and stable sheet-like nanofibers. Inhibiting Acetylcholine Release: Acetyl octapeptide-1 mimics the C-terminal fragment of the SNAP-25 protein, competitively inhibiting the formation of the SNARE complex involved in acetylcholine vesicle release.
