Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 is a lipopeptide composed of three amino acids and is a dioxide-containing compound. Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 has matrikine-like effects, promoting the synthesis of six major components that make up the skin matrix and epidermal-dermal junction (DEJ): collagen I, III, IV, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid, and laminin 5. Therefore, palmitoyl tripeptide-38 can rebuild the skin's reticular structure, smoothing wrinkles and alleviating skin irritation.
Promotes Collagen and Extracellular Matrix Regeneration: Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 activates fibroblasts, promoting the synthesis of type I and III collagen and fibronectin, strengthening dermal structure. It also stimulates the production of glycosaminoglycans (such as hyaluronic acid), improving skin plumpness and hydration.
Anti-Glycation and Collagen Protection: This ingredient competitively binds to reducing sugars, preventing them from attacking collagen and forming advanced glycation end products (AGEs), thus protecting the elasticity and function of collagen fibers and combating dullness and stiffness caused by glycation.
