Sodium N-acylsarcosinate, also known as sodium lauroyl-N-methylaminoacetate, is an amino acid surfactant with CAS number 137-16-6, molecular formula C15H28NO3Na, and molecular weight 293.38. This substance is a sodium sarcosinate derivative, and can be classified into lauroyl, oleyl, and other types depending on the acyl substituent. It has a characteristic odor, is readily soluble in water, ethanol, and glycerol, and exhibits good thermal and chemical stability. As an anionic surfactant, it possesses foaming, emulsifying, and antistatic properties, and is widely used in daily chemical products such as shampoos, toothpaste, and cosmetics.
