Material Composition & Properties
bon steel coils are produced from steel with bon content ranging from 0.0218% to 2.11%, typically containing small amounts of silicon, manganese, sulfur, and phosphorus. Performance characteristics vary with bon content:
Low bon Steel (C≤0.25%): Excellent plasticity, ideal for cold forming and fabrication processes
Medium bon Steel (0.25%<C≤0.6%): Balanced strength properties, commonly used for mechanical components
High bon Steel (C>0.6%): Superior hardness and wear resistance, suitable for tools, springs, and cutting implements
Manufacturing Processes
Hot-Rolled bon Steel Coil: Rolled at elevated temperatures, features mill scale surface, typically available in larger thicknesses, suitable for structural applications where surface finish is not critical.
Cold-Rolled bon Steel Coil: Processed from hot-rolled coil at room temperature, delivers smooth surface finish and precise dimensional tolerances with thicknesses as thin as 0.18mm, widely used in precision manufacturing applications.
