The maximum sulfur content is 0.40%, and there is no requirement for aluminum, niobium, or vanadium content.

Grade B steel has a maximum carbon content of 0.21%, and the manganese content must be between 0.60% and 1.00%. The silicon content is the same as in Grade A (between 0.10% and 0.35%), and the maximum phosphorous content is 0.04%. The maximum sulfur content is 0.40%, and there is no requirement for aluminum, niobium, or vanadium content.

Both Grade D and E steels have a maximum carbon content of 0.21%, and the manganese content must be between 0.60% and 1.00%.
