Track bolts are an essential component of rail infrastructure, responsible for holding the rails and sleepers together to create a stable and safe track system. Material selection is a critical factor in the performance and longevity of track bolts in rail construction. According to related rail track standards, each joint needs to be bolted with at least two railway bolts in each rail tightened to approximately 400 foot-pounds of torque which develops between 25,000, and 30, 000 pounds of tension in the railway bolts.
Railway bolts in use have to be in the proper size and tightly in place.
Railway bolts have to be installed with AREMA spring washers whereas the nuts have to be installed against the spring washer.

The Railway bolt consists of a shaft with a wood screw thread on one side and with a metal screw thread on the other, it also features a 7mm hex shape as part of the shaft and using a wrench or ring spanner can be easily wound into the end grain or into the newel post.
