Q1: Is a JIS stockless anchor the same as a high holding power anchor?

A1: No. This product is presented as an ordinary stockless anchor. HHP or SHHP designation requires a separate approved design and holding-power test basis. Do not reduce the required anchor mass on an HHP basis unless the vessel’s class-approved plan permits it.

Q2: How is the correct nominal anchor mass selected?

A2: The required mass is normally taken from the vessel’s class-approved anchoring equipment calculation and equipment number, not from the dimensional table alone. Chain size, hawse-pipe geometry, vessel arrangement, and replacement compatibility must also be checked.
