Product Overview
The ISO 13767 shipside two-roller fairlead is a shipboard mooring fitting installed at a shell or bulwark opening to lead a mooring rope from the vessel inboard side to the outboard side. Two vertical rollers guide the rope through the shipside opening while the welded seat transfers the resulting load into the surrounding hull structure and under-deck reinforcement.
This page covers only the 2-roller configuration in ISO 13767:2020, with nominal roller outside diameters Dn from 150 mm to 500 mm. Selection should consider the rope lead direction, relative rope angle, reference SWL, shell or bulwark opening, roller maintenance clearance, seat welding detail, and approved towing and mooring plan. ISO 13767:2020 is the current second edition and replaces ISO 13767:2012.

Selection & Inquiry Guide
Step 1: Confirm ISO 13767:2020 and the 2-roller configuration; do not combine this page with the separate 3-roller type.
Step 2: Select nominal size Dn and preliminary SWL according to the mooring rope tension, relative rope angle θ, and approved vessel towing and mooring plan.
Step 3: Confirm the shell or bulwark opening, rope lead direction, roller removal and maintenance clearance, and available installation space.
Step 4: Provide the seat welding detail, supporting steel arrangement, and under-deck reinforcement drawing. The actual onboard SWL shall account for the supporting structure and shall not exceed the standard reference value.
Step 5: Confirm seat material grade and roller construction. Cast steel, stainless steel, nodular cast iron, or special ice-class material options require separate drawing, material, strength, and approval confirmation.
Step 6: Confirm surface treatment, SWL marking, material traceability, maker certificate, class inspection scope, quantity, destination, and required delivery time.
Step 7: Provide the vessel type, installation position, classification society requirement, GA drawing, and existing product photos for replacement projects.

Q1: Should ISO 13767:2012 or ISO 13767:2020 be specified?
A1: ISO 13767:2020 is the current second edition and replaces the withdrawn 2012 edition. A replacement project may still refer to an older vessel drawing, but the applicable edition and dimensional compatibility should be agreed before production.
Q2: Can the standard SWL be used directly as the onboard marked SWL?
A2: No. The table values are reference limits related to nominal size and rope angle. The actual onboard SWL should consider the rope loading condition, welded seat, shell or bulwark structure, and under-deck reinforcement, and it shall not exceed the applicable standard value.
Q3: Is the complete ISO 13767 fairlead a cast steel product?
A3: The publicly available ISO 13767 material requirement identifies the seat as weldable steel plate and references ISO 13755 for steel rollers. Any cast steel, stainless steel, nodular cast iron, or special ice-class version should be confirmed against the actual roller drawing, strength assessment, material certificate, and approval requirement.
