Heavy Duty Black Marine Fender for Pressure Installation Rubber Construction
Floating pneumatic rubber fenders, also known as Yokohama fenders or Yokohama-type pneumatic fenders, are constructed from synthetic-cord-reinforced rubber sheets with compressed air inside. The internal air enables flotation on water and serves as a shock absorber between ships (ship-to-ship) or between ships and berthing structures. All Doowin Marine Yokohama type floating pneumatic rubber fenders are manufactured and tested to fully comply with ISO 17357.
These fenders can be easily handled and installed with guy-ropes or guy-chains due to their lightweight design. They resist shearing forces and maintain energy absorption levels under inclined compression up to 15 degrees while providing low and comparatively even hull pressure.
Available in diameters from 500 mm to 4,500 mm and lengths from 500 mm to 9,000 mm, pneumatic fenders come as sling-type or with heavy-duty chain & tire net configurations. We also supply vertical hydropneumatic fenders for submarines. Foam filled fenders are another floating fender option.
Pneumatic Fender Types
Our Pneumatic Rubber Fenders are available in two common types:
Type I - Net Type: Covered with a chain net, wire net, or fiber net for small size fenders
Type II - Sling Type: Features lifting devices on each end for connection with guy chains or ropes. Without protection net, offering lightweight and easy handling
Pneumatic Fender Construction
Floating pneumatic rubber fenders consist of an outer rubber layer, reinforcement synthetic-tire-cord layer, and inner rubber, all vulcanized firmly together.
Outer Rubber Layer for Better Protection
The outer rubber protects cord layers and inner rubber, with compounds offering sufficient tensile and tear resistance to withstand weather conditions and severe usage.
High Quality Synthetic-tyre-cord Layer
The reinforcement synthetic-tyre-cord layer maintains internal air pressure, while the inner rubber layer seals the pressurized air inside the fender.
Safety Valve For Safer of Big Size Pneumatic Fenders
Fenders with diameters of 2500mm and larger include safety valves for releasing excess internal pressure. Smaller fenders can be equipped upon request.
Chain and Tire Net Pneumatic Rubber Fenders
The external chain and tire net provide additional protection for the rubber fender body, using truck tires, fiber nets, or aircraft tires that can be easily replaced.
