Capabilities and Applications
A pass through monorail shot blasting machine is a continuous, high-efficiency surface treatment device. It conveys workpieces via an overhead monorail system through a sealed blasting chamber, where high-speed abrasive (shot, grit) impinges on the workpiece surface to remove contaminants and improve surface properties. It is widely used in batch and mass production lines of metal workpieces.
Core Capabilities
Continuous and Automated Surface Cleaning
Realizes uninterrupted processing: Workpieces are hung on the monorail hanger, automatically entering, passing through the blasting zone, and exiting the chamber, without manual handling in the middle.
Strong cleaning capacity: It can quickly remove rust, scale, oxide layers, welding slag, oil stains, and old paint films on the surface of workpieces. The cleaning uniformity is high, and the surface roughness can be controlled stably (generally Ra 1.6-6.3 μm).
Surface Strengthening Function
Through controlled shot peening, the surface of metal workpieces (such as steel structural parts, castings, forgings) forms a residual compressive stress layer, which effectively improves the fatigue resistance and service life of the workpiece, and is suitable for parts subject to dynamic loads (e.g., automotive chassis parts, engineering machinery components).
Adaptability to Workpiece Size and Shape
The monorail transport system handles workpieces of varying weights, ranging from tens of kilograms up to several tons, and supports diverse part geometries including structural components, pipe fittings, hardware tools, as well as small and medium‑sized castings and forgings.
Process settings are fully adjustable. Blasting speed, abrasive flow and monorail travel speed can be tuned to match workpiece material and target surface conditions, satisfying various surface treatment specifications.
High Environmental Protection and Resource Utilization
Equipped with a sealed blasting chamber + dust removal system, which effectively collects dust and abrasive particles, reduces dust emission, and meets environmental protection requirements.
Integrated abrasive recycling system: The used abrasive is screened, separated (to remove impurities such as dust and oxide skin), and recycled, which reduces abrasive consumption and production costs.
Compatible with Subsequent Process Linkage
It can be directly interfaced with downstream operations including painting, spraying and electrophoresis to build up a full surface‑treatment production line. This helps boost overall production efficiency, while the roughened surface after blasting greatly improves coating adhesion.
