Product Overview for Silicone Potting Compound:
HN-8808 is a two-component, low-viscosity potting compound. It cures at room temperature into soft, flexible rubber. Featuring strong adhesion, it bonds well with aluminum, iron, acrylic and PC plastics, effectively enhancing waterproof and sealing performance.
Product Highlights for Silicone Potting Compound:
1. Easy to process: Extended pot life supports large-batch mixing and assembly of complex parts, cutting material waste.
2. Superior self-leveling: Freely flows into tiny gaps for a smooth, blemish-free surface.
3. Simple mixing ratio: Easy-to-follow 10:1 weight ratio simplifies operation and avoids mixing errors.
4. Clear curing indicator: Cures from surface to core. Surface skinning marks the initial curing stage.
5. Convenient rework: Proper hardness enables complete removal of cured material for component repairs.
Method of Application
According to the dosage, pour it into the mold after mixing according to A: B=10:1.
Remove the surface bubbles and cure at room temperature (the proportion can be adjusted according to actual needs, the larger the proportion of component B, the faster the curing).
Key Precautions for Silicone Potting Compound:
1. Ambient Temperature Impact: Summer heat shortens pot life, while winter cold extends cure time. Adjust your workflow speed according to seasonal changes.
2. Use Mixed Material Promptly: Apply the mixed compound within its pot life. Never pour reacting material back into the original container.
3. Tool Cleaning Guide: Clean off uncured residues easily with alcohol. Once the compound cures, it can only be removed mechanically.
4. Operator Comfort: Wear gloves and use ergonomic tools during long work shifts to reduce hand fatigue.
Packaging & Storage for Silicone Potting Compound:
1. Part A (Base):
10 KG plastic pail/barrel – Ideal for medium-scale production or pilot testing.20 KG plastic pail/barrel – Ideal for high-volume automated production lines.
2. Part B (Hardener):
1 KG plastic bottle/barrel – Standard matching size.
FAQ for Silicone Potting Compound:
1. Q: The 40-minute pot life starts from when?
A: It starts from the moment Components A and B begin mixing. We recommend completing mixing, degassing, and pouring within 30 minutes, leaving a 10-minute safety margin.
2. Q: What if I accidentally get the ratio wrong, say 11:1?
A: The 10:1 ratio has some tolerance. 11:1 (excess A) may lead to incomplete cure and internal softness. 12:1 carries higher risk. Keep error within ±5%.
3. Q: How critical is a vacuum pump for performance?
A: For most consumer-grade products, sitting and manual bubble removal yields acceptable performance. For high-reliability (auto, ), vacuum degassing is essential.
4. Q: How to clean glue from skin?
A: Uncured, wipe off most with a paper towel, then wash with soapy water or alcohol. Cured silicone is insoluble and will wear off naturally; don't worry.
5. Q: Do you offer small trial kits?
A: Yes. We offer 1kg trial kits (909g A + 91g B) for process validation and performance testing. Feel free to apply.
