The UL 6703 PV Connector Reciprocating Tensile Tester is a specialized testing system developed for evaluating the mechanical and electrical reliability of photovoltaic connectors, solar cable assemblies and PV wiring components.
Designed in accordance with UL 6703 Clause 9.4, the system performs controlled reciprocating tensile movements on photovoltaic connectors while the specimens are subjected to load current conditions.
During testing, the equipment continuously monitors applied tensile force and electrical continuity, enabling laboratories and PV component manufacturers to identify potential wire breakage, connector damage, abnormal force changes, or electrical disconnection after repeated tensile cycles.
The system integrates a PLC control platform, servo motor drive, precision force sensor, and touchscreen HMI, providing accurate control of test force, displacement, speed, and cycle count.
With four independently controlled test stations, the tester improves laboratory testing efficiency while allowing multiple photovoltaic connector samples to be evaluated under identical test conditions.
The system is equipped with four independent testing stations, allowing multiple photovoltaic connector specimens to be tested efficiently. Each station is designed for independent specimen positioning and tensile testing.
Ideal for:

The testing system is specifically designed around the requirements of UL 6703 Clause 9.4 for photovoltaic connector testing. It provides a controlled method for evaluating connector performance after repeated tensile movement under electrical load conditions.
The test helps determine whether repeated mechanical movement causes:
A precision servo motor drive system provides controlled vertical reciprocating movement. The test speed can be adjusted from 0.01 - 100 mm/min, allowing laboratories to establish controlled tensile movement conditions and maintain consistent test repeatability.
A force sensor continuously monitors the tensile load applied to the photovoltaic connector. The system provides:
The equipment can automatically respond to force conditions and perform a reset when preset test conditions are reached.
