IEC 61855 Hair Straightener Tension Uniformity Tester with PLC Intelligent Control
Product information:
Standard: Conform to IEC 61855 clause 5.8, figure 13 and 14.
Specimen and restrictions: Hair straightener.
Test purpose: Used to detect the tension uniformity of the hair straightener.
Test principle: Install 10 tension sensors on the fixed end of simulated hair, use a hair straightener to pull it from the top to the bottom, measure the tension value at each point and record the comparison.
Measurement of tension of hair straightener:
The purpose of the measurement is to evaluate the tension uniformity of the hair straightener.
Ten stainless steel wires with a 1,5 mm diameter and not less than 400 mm in length are used. The flatness of the steel wire shall be less than 1 mm/m and the roughness (Ra) shall be less than 0,6 μm. The steel wires are evenly distributed with a space of 6 mm. Each wire is attached to a tension meter. The test set up is shown in Figure 13. The 10 wires are placed between the hair straightener plates in the middle area and are kept in a vertical state.
The hair straightener is powered on. After 30 s, a force of 20 N is applied onto the two plates. The hair straightener is moved down along the wires at a speed of 1 mm/s, and the distance moved is 60 mm. During the movement, the tension in each wire is read per 0,5 s and the measured tension (F1,F2,...F10) in each individual wire is calculated as the average of all readings. F1,F2,...F10 are recorded.
The tension uniformity of the hair straightener can also be illustrated in a graph, as shown in Figure 14.
