Application
Screw conveyor is a kind of machinery that uses a motor to drive spiral rotation and push materials to achieve the purpose of conveying. It can be transported horizontally, obliquely or vertically , and has the advantages of simple structure, small cross-sectional area, good sealing, convenient operation, easy maintenance, and convenient closed transportation. Screw conveyors are divided into two types, shaft screw conveyors and shaftless screw conveyors in conveying form, and U-shaped screw conveyors and tubular screw conveyors in appearance . Shaft screw conveyors are suitable for non-viscous dry powder materials and small particle materials (for example: cement, fly ash, lime, grain, etc.) while shaftless screw conveyors are suitable for conveyors with viscous and easy-to-wind materials. (For example: sludge, biomass, garbage, etc.) The working principle of the screw conveyor is that the rotating screw blade pushes the material to be conveyed by the screw conveyor. The force that prevents the material from rotating with the screw conveyor blade is the weight of the material itself. The frictional resistance of the screw conveyor casing to the material. The spiral blade welded on the rotating shaft of the screw conveyor, the surface of the blade has solid surface, belt surface, blade surface and other types according to the different materials to be conveyed. The screw shaft of the screw conveyor has a thrust bearing at the end of the material movement direction to give the axial reaction force of the screw with the material. When the length of the machine is long, an intermediate suspension bearing should be added.

Features and applications
screw conveyor has the following features:
1) The structure is relatively simple and the cost is low.

3) Compact size, small section size, and small floor space. It is easy to get in and out of hatches and carriages during unloading operations in ports.
4) Sealed transportation can be realized, which is conducive to the transportation of flying, hot and strong-smelling materials, which can reduce environmental pollution and improve the working conditions of port workers.
5) Easy to load and unload. The horizontal screw conveyor can be loaded and unloaded at any point on the conveying line; the vertical screw conveyor can be equipped with a relatively screw-type reclaiming device to have excellent reclaiming performance.
6) It can convey in reverse, and it can also make a conveyor convey materials in two directions at the same time, that is, towards the center or away from the center.
7) The unit energy consumption is relatively large.
8) The material is easy to be crushed and worn during the conveying process, and the spiral blade and the trough are also worn seriously.
Structural features
(1) The spiral blades of the screw conveyor have three types: solid spiral surface type, belt spiral surface type and blade spiral surface type. The solid spiral surface is called the s manufacturing method. The spiral pitch of the GX type is 0.8 times the diameter of the blade. The LS type screw conveyor is suitable for conveying powder and granular materials. The belt spiral surface is also called the D manufacturing method, and its spiral pitch is the same as the diameter of the spiral blade, which is suitable for conveying powder and small materials. The blade type spiral surface is less used, and is mainly used for conveying high viscosity and compressible materials. During the conveying process, stirring and mixing are completed at the same time. The spiral pitch is about 1.2 times the diameter of the spiral blade.
(2) The screw blades of the screw conveyor have two rotation directions, left-handed and right-handed.
(3) The types of screw conveyors include horizontal fixed screw conveyors and vertical screw conveyors. The horizontal fixed screw conveyor is the most commonly used type. The vertical screw conveyor is used to lift materials in a short distance. The conveying height is generally no more than 8m. The screw blade is a solid surface type. It must have a horizontal screw feeding to ensure the necessary feeding pressure.
(4) At the material outlet end of LS and GX screw conveyors, 1/2 to 1 turn of reverse screw should be installed to prevent the end from being blocked by powder.
(5) The screw conveyor is composed of three parts: the screw body, the inlet and outlet and the driving device.
The screw machine body is composed of a head bearing, a tail bearing, a suspension bearing, a screw, a casing, a cover plate and a base.
