About Casting Fittings
SMLSCO stainless steel fittings are produced using precision casting (silica sol) technology. This process can produce products with complex shapes, precise dimensions, and high surface smoothness. Types of Cast Tee
Casting tees is the basic component for creating a 90° branch on the main pipeline. SMLSCO offers two main types: Equal Tee, with three identical port sizes for evenly distributing flow; And reducing tee, whose branch pipe port size is smaller than the main pipe port, is used to connect smaller equipment or branch pipelines. These two types jointly meet the diverse branch connection requirements in pipeline systems.
Material Properties of CF8M/316
CF8M (commonly known as cast 316) material has significantly better corrosion resistance than conventional CF8/304 material due to the presence of molybdenum (Mo) element, especially its ability to resist chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. This makes it a more durable and reliable choice, especially suitable for plumbing systems that may handle chemically treated water, brackish water, or other corrosive factors, effectively extending the service life of fittings.
Material and Standard Description
According to ASTM A351 standard, the official grade for casting 316 stainless steel is CF8M. Although the chemical composition of the two is very similar, the industry usually uses the more well-known "316" for labeling and communication. The cast pipe fittings supplied by SMLSCO have material properties that meet the requirements of CF8M, ensuring that you achieve the expected corrosion resistance. At the same time, the product dimensions refer to standards such as ISO 4144 and comply with widely accepted industry standards.
