Slip On Flange Characteristic
A neck flat welding flange, also known as a slip on flange, refers to a type of flange in which steel pipes are inserted into the inner ring of the flange for connection. It is fixed to the pipeline through two internal and external fillet welds, and its main advantage is that on-site alignment and installation are relatively convenient, which can eliminate the complex weld detection process. Compared with butt welded flanges, it has lower stiffness and load-bearing capacity, making it more suitable for working conditions with relatively mild temperature and pressure. In the manufacturing of pressure vessels, F321 neck flat welding flanges are often used for connecting the pipe openings of equipment cylinders or heads.
