316/316L Material Properties
316/316L contains 2-3% Molybdenum. It has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in high-chloride environments. The low-carbon 316L has no sensitization tendency in welded areas. This makes it suitable for rapid on-site splicing. The heavy-wall design is combined with cold-drawing reinforcement. This allows the pipe to maintain stable mechanical properties under high pressure and pulsating loads.
Applications
This series of heavy-wall seamless pipe is mainly for chemical injection lines. It is also used in offshore platform hydraulic systems. Other applications include high-pressure heat exchangers and boiler feedwater circuits. Its excellent corrosion and pressure resistance helps global industrial distributors maintain ready stock. Cold-Drawn Production Process
Multi-pass cold drawing is used for finishing. The pipe blank undergoes multiple cold draws. It is also subject to intermediate annealing and straightening. This process controls dimensional tolerances to within ±0.05 mm. Wall thickness uniformity improves by over 12%. The fine-grain structure significantly increases compressive strength. A mirror-finish inner wall reduces fluid resistance. This provides a safer pipe choice for high-pressure systems.
Quality Control System
SMLSCO uses a three-stage quality control process. It begins with PMI for raw materials. Then, it involves in-process eddy current and ultrasonic testing. Finally, a 100% review of the finished product's hydro-test and dimensions is conducted. Each pipe is photographed and archived. SGS/TÜV spot-check reports are available upon request. Complete and traceable data ensures rapid quality acceptance.
