1. Cutting the Carrier Tapes: Use the designated cutting tool (GSMTL20/GSMTL30/GSMTL40) to accurately cut the carrier tapes. Precision in cutting ensures a perfect fit and alignment.
2. Preparing the Splice Tape: Remove the split liner of the splice tape to expose the adhesive side. This step is crucial for ensuring a secure bond between the tapes.
3. Aligning the Carrier Tapes: Align the cut carrier tapes (cover tape down) with the guide alignment. The placement guide ensures precise alignment, reducing the risk of misalignment.
4. Joining the Carrier Tapes: Place both ends of the joining carrier tapes onto the first strip of the splice tape. Ensure that they are aligned correctly to avoid any misfeeds.
5. Securing the Splice: Fold over the second strip of the splice tape to the underside of the carrier tape and press firmly. This ensures a secure and stable splice.
6. Finalizing the Splice: Remove and discard the clear plastic cover to complete the splice. The tapes are now joined securely and ready for use in the assembly process.
