High Purity Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant With Multi Stage Filtration Unit

1. Sand filter

Refined quartz sand filters, used to remove sediment, manganese, rust, colloid material, mechanical impurities, suspended solids and other particles with grain size more than 20um of substance.

The effluent turbidity from sand filter is less than 0.5NTU, CODmn less than 1.5mg / L, iron content is less than 0.05mg / L, SDI less than or equal to 5.

Water filter is a kind of physical - chemical process, the water molecule goes through granular materials while holding up impurities and colloidal suspensions.

Main structure FRP tank, baffles, water distributor, manhole, gauge, filter head, filter, into the water pipes, drains and flushing water mains, as well as access to water, such as the composition of backwashing valve.

2. Activated Carbon filter

Activated carbon filters is to remove pigment of feed water, odor, a large number of chemical and biological organisms, reducing the residual value of water and pesticide pollution and other harmful pollutants.

Strong adsorption capacity of activated carbon is efficient to remove organic material, adsorption of residual chlorine in the water, to make sure the concentration of residual chlorine is less than 0.1ML/M3, SDI less than 4. Carbon filter can prevent various kinds of RO membrane irriversible damage, especially for the damage from residual chlorine.

After a period of filtration, the surface of activated carbon forms non-crystalline parts of some oxygen-containing functional groups, these functional groups have a chemical adsorption of activated carbon catalytic oxidation, to recover the absorbtion performance, to remove parts of metal ions in water effectively.

3 Resin softener

Cationic resin is used to reduce the hardness of feed water softening. Hardness of water mainly refers to the ions of calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺). When the feed water goes through the resin layer, the water with the Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺ would be exchanged by resin adsorption. At the same time, the same quality of sodium Na + ions released. So Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ is removed from the feed water and the softened water would be transported to the next treatment process. This unit effectively prevent the reverse osmosis membrane from fouling. The resin softener need regular regeneration process.

4. Security filter / Micron filter

Sand filter and carbon filter removes very small colloidal particles in the water. After previous filtration, there may be tiny particals, such as quartz sand and activated carbon particles. In order to make sure the precision of filtered water, and to protect the RO membrane and following high pressure pump from damage caused by high pressure and high speed, the Micron filter is adopted for security of following technicla process. The filtration precision is 10um, 5um and 1um.

Also, it can be adopted in post treatment after RO system.

5. RO system

Reverse osmosis technology is the core part of desalination. Filtration precision is only 0.001 micron pore size. It can remove dissolved solids and bacteria, viruses effectively. Generally speaking, the section contains high-pressure pump and reverse osmosis membrane. High-pressure pump provides sufficient pressure to overcome the penetration resistance, and separate the water molecule with most part of impurities in water. The salinity rejection rate of mainstream RO membrane reaches over 98%.
