The reverse osmosis water filter process uses semi-permeable spiral-wound membranes to remove dissolved solids, organics, pyrogens, submicron colloids, and bacteria from water. Feed water passes through the membranes at a pressure of approximately 16 kg/cm²; water permeates the membrane pores to become purified water, while impurities are concentrated in the reject stream and flushed out. It can remove 90-99% of the total dissolved solids (TDS), 99% of the organics (including pyrogens), and 99% of all bacteria from the feed water.
Reverse osmosis (RO) system
Reverse osmosis process is the world's advanced, energy-saving and effective separation technology now,with a filtration accuracy of 0.001 um, to completely separate and remove all particles of soluble salts,colloids, organics, microorganisms, viruses, bacteria, rust, and heavy metals in water. It requires pressure toforce pure water across a membrane, leaving the impurities behind.However, note that reverse osmosis systems are not ideal for treating water that is very hard and/or withsignificant quantities of contaminants. In this case, to extend the operating life of the membrane, the watershould be pre-treated before entering reverse osmosis membranes (filtering, deferrization, etc.).
