Spray drying is a widely applied process in liquid forming and drying operations. This technology is particularly suitable for producing powder and granular solid products from raw materials including solutions, emulsions, suspensions, and pastes. The spray drying process ensures precise control over particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density, and particle shape of finished products.
Working Principle
Air undergoes filtration and heating before entering the air distributor at the dryer's top. The heated air flows uniformly into the drying chamber in a spiral pattern. Feed liquid passes through a high-speed centrifugal atomizer at the tower top, where it is sprayed into extremely fine mist-like droplets. These droplets contact the parallel hot air flow and are dried into finished products within seconds. Finished products continuously discharge from the drying tower bottom and cyclone separator, while exhaust gases are expelled by a fan.
