What is the difference between GI and hot-dip galvanized?
The key difference between galvanized and hot dip galvanized is that most galvanized materials have a smooth
and sharp finishing, whereas hot sip galvanized structures have a rough finishing. Galvanization is a process of
preventing metal surfaces from corrosion.
What is pre-painted galvanized steel?
Today the term GI typically refers to essentially pure zinc (>99%) continuously hot dip coated steel, as opposed to
batch dip processes. PPGI refers to factory pre-painted zinc coated steel, where the steel is painted before forming,
as opposed to post painting which occurs after forming.
