304 Grade 1 X 1 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh For Hog Panel
Keeping hogs in line is a real test for any fence, and this hog panel mesh is built for it. Each panel is made from 304 stainless steel wire welded into a 1" x 1" square mesh, an opening size that stops piglets squeezing through while letting sows and growers see and breathe. The welded joints at every intersection give the panel strength in both directions, so it holds up to rooting, pushing and chewing far better than a loosely woven sheet. Because the whole panel is 304 grade stainless steel, it copes with the wet, ammonia-heavy air of a pig house without the fast rusting that plain steel shows within its first season. The result is a hog panel that stays rigid and easy to hose down, season after season.
Most of the credit goes to the metal itself. Grade 304 stainless steel carries roughly 18% chromium, and that chromium reacts with oxygen to form a thin protective film on the wire surface, which gives the mesh its corrosion resistance. The film repairs itself when the surface is scratched, so minor abrasion from hogs rubbing against the panel does not open the door to rust. That said, we do not claim this mesh is rust-proof. In a constantly wet, slurry-covered pen, or where salt or acidic cleaners are used heavily, even 304 can develop staining or pitting over time. Washing down the panels regularly and letting them dry between uses will extend their working life considerably, and most buyers find the panels last for many years before any renewal is needed.
These panels earn their keep wherever hogs are raised. They divide farrowing rooms where sows need strong, gap-free barriers, form grow-out pens and finishing barn walls, and make durable gates for handling areas. The 1" x 1" apertures are practical beyond pigs: the same panels fence lambs and kids, guard feed stores and young trees, and suit kennels and poultry runs where smaller animals must stay put. Because stainless steel stands up to pressure washing, disinfectants and the corrosive gases of intensive housing, it is a common choice for farms that want a barrier they will not replace every few years. Wherever you fit it, the panel is delivered flat and ready to bolt or clamp onto your existing posts.
