Cold-rolled steel sheet is the abbreviation of cold-rolled plain carbon structural plate, also known as cold-rolled sheet or cold plate. Manufactured from ordinary carbon structural steel hot-rolled steel strip, cold plate undergoes further cold rolling to achieve thicknesses less than 4mm.
Due to rolling at room temperature, cold-rolled steel does not produce iron oxide, resulting in superior surface quality and high dimensional accuracy. Combined with annealing treatment, cold-rolled steel offers excellent mechanical and technological properties that surpass hot-rolled steel sheet. This makes it ideal for many applications, particularly in household appliance manufacturing where it has gradually replaced hot-rolled steel sheet.
